The common goal of both societies is “revolutionizing headache care through science” and the Congress will provide the research, education, and training to attendees to reach those goals for their patients and themselves. The scientific committee has designed a program for physicians, researchers, psychologists, and other health professionals that will address practice gaps by state of the art lectures, interactive sessions and case based sessions. The latest and most up to date knowledge on migraine, other primary headache and secondary headaches as well as facial pain will be presented by internationally known thought leaders, researchers, and clinicians. Clinically relevant basic knowledge will be provided and workable solutions to common and complex headache medicine problems will be addressed. The new headache classification and diagnostic criteria of the IHS will be presented along with imaging and genetic data, as well as debates on controversial management problems. All these items should allow the headache practitioner to better help the headache patients and achieving better outcomes under their care.
