Preventive cardiology has emerged over the past decade as an important new subspecialty within cardiology. Clinicians need to have the latest information regarding the evidence-based management of traditional and emerging risk factors, including dyslipidemia, hypertension and diabetes. Clinicians must also understand the roles of novel screening methods for better assessing cardiovascular risk. The current conference is a new initiative that gives younger junior investigators the opportunity to learn and interact with key thought leaders in the field of preventive cardiology.
